It is set behind an enclosed, landscaped courtyard accessed through an existing stone wall. Off street parking is provided with an integral garage at half basement level. The living accommodation is distributed over three floors maximising the daylight from the north east and south west.

Bishops Lydeard is classified as a Rural Centre, which serves as a focal point for economic and social activity for its rural hinterland. The village is defined as an Outstanding Heritage Settlement of which the oldest part is designated as a Conservation Area. The site is within this Conservation Area which is also classed as an area of high archaeological potential and a Landscape Character Area.
