Richard Pedlar Dipl. Arch.(Canterbury), Dipl. Conservation Studies (York), R.I.B.A.
Richard Pedlar is an experienced architect with a specialisation in conservation who has spent most of his professional life in Bristol. He is involved with the Conservation Advisory Panel, the Bristol and Bath Society of Architects, and local amenity groups. He undertook a full time post graduate course in Conservation Studies at York. He has been engaged as a consultant to Bristol City Council, the United Bristol Health Care Trust, the University of Bristol, and is a visiting lecturer on the Bristol University Conservation Diploma Course. He is president of The Ecclesiastical Architects & Surveyors Association (EASA).

Simon Fitzgibbon B.Sc.(Hons),B.Arch. (Wales), R.I.B.A.
Simon Fitzgibbon graduated in Cardiff and joined the practice in 1988. He has extensive experience in managing both small and large contracts and was an Associate with the practice for a number of years before becoming a Director. He is particularly experienced as a project architect in detail design and specification of both new and historic fabric, and in dealing with English Heritage and local authorities on difficult planning and construction issues. Simon is a member of the Green Register who promote sustainability issues throughout the building industry and is an accredited 'Eco-Refurbisher'.

Alison Akester B. Sc.(Hons) M.Arch. ARB, R.I.B.A.
Alison joined the Bristol practice in 2005 after graduating from the University of Bath.  After gaining valuable experience with the Bristol team Alison re-located to Hertfordshire in 2011 and is establishing a new branch of Richard Pedlar Architects.  She has a wide range of experience from small-scale residential developments and domestic extensions to ecclesiastical re-ordering and refurbishment works for restaurant/bars.  With a particular interest in the re-use of existing buildings and conservation Alison is working towards the AABC qualification and is a member of the Ecclesiastical Architects and Surveyors Association.

David joined the practice in 2004. He is a qualified architect who graduated from the University of Cardiff in 1996. He has since gained valuable experience working on a wide range of commercial and residential projects in Marlborough and more recently in New Zealand.

Ali joined the practice in 2004. She is a qualified architect who has studied at Edinburgh University, University College London and Kent Institute of Art and Design. She has since gained valuable experience working on a commercial and educational projects in London and more recently in the Bristol area.

Christopher Routledge is an experienced architect with a lively interest in both the conservation of historic buildings and in modern design and he has won a number of awards for projects in both categories. He has wide experience in the design of educational buildings.

Andrew Bourne B.A. (Hons) Architecture, Dip.Arch, MA, ARB, R.I.B.A.
Andrew joined the practice in 2011 and is a graduate from the Portsmouth School of Architecture.  Prior to joining the practice he gained experience working on a range of commercial, educational and residential projects and registered as a Chartered Architect in 2004. Recently, as a Senior Lecturer and final year coordinator at the Arts University College at Bournemouth, Andrew helped to run the final year on the undergraduate programme whilst the course successfully gained full initial RIBA part one validation. Andrew is keen to maintain links with architectural education and the wider architectural community.  He is a committee member of the Bristol Society of Architects and holds examiner roles at three higher education institutions. In addition he is a member of the New Courses Group at the RIBA and a Vice Chair on the RIBA's validation panels which look at new and existing courses in Architecture in the UK and further afield.
